Happy Feet Plus is stepping into the future, with a brand new location opening during the 2016 Holiday Season in Wesley Chapel. A soft opening has been planned prior to Thanksgiving, where members of Tampa’s Chamber of Commerce are expected to attend. The official ribbon cutting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14, from 5pm-7pm.
Although this will be the eleventh store to open for the Happy Feet Plus family, Jacob and Jane’s vision remains the same; a health food store for your feet. In keeping with that vision, the construction of the 1400 square foot store will be sourced only to workers in the local community.
Indeed, store manager Natalia Scattone has high hopes for a connective and educational center of community outreach. The store has already partnered with Shapes gym for cross promotions, events, and philanthropy.
The new location will also participate in Soles4Souls, a not for profit organization “committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing.” Those who donate a pair of shoes will receive a discount in return at Happy Feet Plus.
Scattone has been working in the shoe industry since 1997 for two family companies in Long Island. For 12 years she managed the Shoe Box and the six locations across the island.
“Shoes are my passion,” said Scattone. “This is the first company I’ll be working for that invests in people’s health and wellness, rather than just fashion. It’s very rewarding.”
Something unique about the Wesley Chapel location is a younger demographic, thanks to the surrounding Super Target, Shapes gym, L.A. Fitness, and Anytime Fitness. Married couples in the late 20s and 30s compose much of the dynamic neighborhood, and the Happy Feet Plus team looks forward to a lively event season.
